In Midnight Clad

Just a quick update! I've been playing with my color scheme and finally found one that has caught my fancy. The model is little rough around the edges and i'm using an old 40k model as a tester.

A nice little hand painted Night Lords Legion logo! Not bad for my first! The lightning on the leg is almost perfect to what I want. Subtle and definitive.

The lightning on the shoulder is a little big for my liking.

Here is an old 40k Night Lord I had that was used in a Dark Crusade RPG campaign. I use to have a Night Lords army and this was the scheme used. Looking back, the blue is bland, flat and the lightning is way over the top.

My local gaming group, The Desperate Allies, have started some early preparations for our inevitable jump into the epic abyss that is The Horus Heresy.

It is important to our group that we learn, build, paint and grow our Horus Heresy experience together. We have designed a system that keeps us on the same level at all times. We build our lists together, we order roughly the same strength units together, we build our models together, and paint them together before we even place our next Forge World order.

It is imperative that in a game as deep and involved as The Horus Heresy that we don't jump ahead of ourselves. While we anxiously want to play the game, we refuse to play the game via-proxy and with unpainted models. To us, it is all about the forging the narrative.

In addition, we are working together in our list building to make sure our lists are not only accurate representations of our chosen legions, but also so that we all don't take the same thing. Inevitably, we will all own a Sicaran Battle Tank at some point in time, no doubt. However, we do want to avoid mirror-matching as much as possible.

Thus far, there are 3 of us in the group that are ready to start our Legions. Others in the group are waiting for their Legion to be released or are still learning about the Legions and the Heresy in general and have not made a decision.

So far the Legions soon to be represented in The Desperate Allies are The Sons of Horus, The Salamanders and The Night Lords (myself).

I am focusing my Night Lords army on what they do best, Terror Assault. I want to include a lot of Drop Pods, Jump Infantry and Fear. Here is my first 2500 point list followed by my 3000pt. boost.

Nostraman Blood is a new chapter in my Warhammer 40k (or should I say 30k...) life. This blog will be personal documentation of my journey into the extensive world of the Horus Heresy and more specifically the roles Konrad Curze and his "Children of the Night".
